"Tropic Of Paranoia"

All sounds & art-design composed, performed, recorded and engineered by Cecyl Ruehlen


Each iterative composition is a single take, recorded live using alto saxophone and various analog and electronic filters that expand and explode the voicings and movement happening inside and around the horn.


While I live in a perpetual state of changing my technical / technological arrangements surrounding various instruments, saxophone is where much of the focus arises. This album charts my moving back into live settings, improvising with an audience after the 2020/21 pandemic hiatus from social gatherings. If I'm being transparent about the circumstances during the making of this album, its really a collection of live sounds that capture the building up and aftermath of me having a nervous breakdown in late 2021.
